The Emergency & Trauma Center Operations Technician works under the management of the ETC Operations Manager and is responsible for maintaining the operational needs of the department including customer service, transportation, supplies, equipment, and environmental service needs.
Responsibilities
Adhere to the ETC customer service standards.
Assist with environmental service duties in the department or assigned area within the ETC including disposal of recycling/trash receptacles, linen removal from laundry bins to proper disposal area.
Assist with environmental service duties, as assigned within the ETC, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, cables, stretchers/wheelchairs, and millwork.
Consistently use the patient identification band to confirm appropriate patient identifiers.
Consistently communicate with clinical team members prior to transporting a patient.
Transport patients safely throughout the hospital by the use of wheelchairs and with stretcher transports; utilizing the computerized patient transport system.
Transport specimens to the laboratory, and deliver blood and blood products in a timely manner.
Transport equipment by picking up and delivering to assigned treatment or patient care areas as needed.
Ensure equipment is maintained and has appropriate biomed labeling.
Maintain adequate par levels in assigned areas within ETC department.
Pick up slides for physicians to review from laboratory as requested.
Obtain supplies from central supply as requested.
Participate/ use the automated systems in a timely and accurate manner to assist with patient throughput.
Assist with maintaining operations within the assigned area of the ETC (i.e., prompt care, pods A, B, C, D & E, Trauma/Resuscitation, Triage Areas, and Sorter Stations).
Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
Adhere to the uniform policy.
Qualifications
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
Satisfactory completion of required internal ETC Operations Technician training program.
Job Duties & Compensation The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may be different than the posted rate of pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to:

In addition to our compensation for full‑time and part‑time (20+ hours/week) job positions, HMH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Minimum rate of $18.23 Hourly.
