The
Hoy Center at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay
takes a holistic approach to skilled nursing care and aging. Our person-centric living aligns the delivery of care with individual needs and preferences. The Hoy features home‑like, comfortable settings, which we call Lighthouses, each with a family room and e‑concept kitchen. These modern and open private rooms are comfortable, well‑appointed and tastefully designed. The Lighthouses include the Rose Island, Mission Point, Point Lookout, Cape Henry and Point Roberts.
The Nutrition Care Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Dining Services staff, including Nutrition Care Partners (NCPs) and Team Leaders. Ensures that all department and facility policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. Ensures proper assembly and service of meal items, as well as sanitation and safety in all areas of dining service in the Hoy Center and Seaglass. Ensures safe and efficient use of resources. Leadership through verbal and written communication. Responsible, with direction of the Nutrition Care Manager, for hiring, training, evaluation, and discipline of Nutrition Care Partners and Team Leaders.
What You’ll Do In This Role
Screen, interview, select and train new team members.
Conduct performance evaluations and discipline employees in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain employee files, documenting such personnel standards of conduct issues such as tardiness, absences, counseling sessions, etc.
Ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to.
Prepare payroll for submission. Monitor and report department overtime. Complete employee schedule within budget guidelines.
Coordinates daily “Showtime” meetings utilizing training and customer service goals.
Participate in all scheduled Dining Services Manager meetings and Nutrition Care Team Leadership meetings. Conduct monthly “Chat” sessions as assigned.
Represent Dining Services in all areas of Westminster Canterbury with a positive manner, using established customer service guidelines.
Conduct audits during meal service to monitor staff compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
Participate in the Performance Improvement Program as assigned.
Complete month‑end inventory.
Conduct mandatory in‑services and ensure completion of all compliance requirements, i.e., annual PPD’s, COVID testing, etc.
Demonstrate knowledge of all therapeutic diets and the proper food/condiments served with each diet. Demonstrate knowledge of proper food portioning of all items for residents.
Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and sanitation with regard to food temperatures, hand washing techniques, use of gloves and dating of food items.
Accurately identify standard temperatures for refrigerated food storage. Demonstrate knowledge of proper chemical usage and MSDS.
Follow prescribed work assignments daily, maintaining proper time frames and completing all required duties, and all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 25 lbs or more.
Able to push and pull carts/objects.
Able to stand up to 8‑hours consecutively. Capable of standing and maneuvering independently and safely around the work area.
Performance of job tasks will involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Demonstrate sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and to manipulate kitchen equipment including stovetop, oven, waffle iron, griddle, Panini, milkshakes machine, blenders, can openers, knives, etc.
The Experience You’ll Bring Required
Experience of all least two years in a healthcare environment required.
ServSafe Certification required.
Certified Dietary Manager CDM) acquired within 2-years.
Knowledge of HIPAA and CMS Regulations.
Advance computer skills required, especially knowledge of Microsoft and Google Application .
Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays and Specialist events designated by Westminster Canterbury.
Must be able to work in all Lighthouse kitchens 2 - 3 days a week adhering to Standards of Conduct and supervision.
Preferred
Supervisor or leadership ability.
Experience working with an elderly population.
COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy’s statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. We encourage all new hires to consult with their healthcare provider regarding the most current vaccination recommendations. Compensation Range: $24.11- $28.94/hourly (based on relevant experience)
