Key Responsibilities
Provide overall technical and administrative management of construction projects from bid acceptance through final client acceptance for Mechanical and Plumbing scopes.
Lead construction efforts to ensure projects comply with design specifications, budgets, schedules, and company core values.
Interface with and support client representatives, B&I departments, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
Act as liaison between trades, other departments, and the company.
Provide field employees with necessary support to complete projects expeditiously.
Conduct project meetings for planning, communication, and execution of project scopes.
Establish job cost breakdowns and schedule of values; review and approve monthly billings for timely submission.
Coordinate and review submittal data, operation and maintenance manuals, shop drawings, and as‑built drawings to ensure compliance with construction documents and schedule.
Release and coordinate delivery of large equipment as required by project schedule and site logistics.
Develop project manpower schedule in collaboration with trade supervisors and manage subcontractor scopes as needed.
Provide technical assistance for project related scopes: engineering, drawing interpretation, construction methods and equipment recommendations.
Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and timely issuance of change orders for financial compensation.
Conduct weekly on‑site visits/inspections to assess productivity, material and equipment use, and contractual performance.
Monitor project costs and forecast future costs monthly; attend monthly cost review meetings with executive group to report status and budget adjustments.
Distribute, follow up, and respond to punch list items in a timely manner.
Update project meeting minutes weekly and provide status reports during weekly staff meetings.
Attend weekly project management meetings; provide input on department‑related items.
Mentor and develop assigned Project Engineer(s) toward successful Project Manager roles.
Qualifications
Four‑year engineering degree or equivalent in construction/engineering experience in commercial mechanical and plumbing construction.
Minimum eight (8) years of construction management, estimating or trade supervision experience in a similar setting.
Experience in healthcare or large hospital projects highly preferred.
Thorough knowledge of all construction aspects: technology, equipment, methods, financials, engineering, estimating, scheduling, and safety.
Excellent communication, organization and supervisory skills.
Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds frequently; perform physical labor in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies.
Spanish or bilingual experience is an asset (included for diversity).
