Job Description The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. The Engagement Coordinator will support the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the New Worlds Reading Initiative Engagement Team, working under the Engagement Manager to align projects with university, departmental, and state goals.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines and milestones.

Set and communicate project expectations, facilitate meetings, and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations.

Establish and maintain relationships with key partners (district POCs, community organizations) and coordinate scope changes, crisis management, and contingency plans.

Support the development of best practices and tools for execution and strategy execution for operational efficiencies.

Engage in market and literature review, data analysis, and recruitment strategy development focused on hard‑to‑reach families.

Build and maintain partnerships, provide appropriate messaging and marketing toolkits, and oversee family recruitment and enrollment.

Provide logistical support for literacy events, workshops, and professional development sessions.

Troubleshoot challenges and coordinate with staff to maintain consistent communication.

Support the Engagement Manager and leadership team and assist executive leadership as needed.

Expected Salary $65,000 – $75,000

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years experience in project coordination.

Experience working with diverse communities and low‑income families.

Ability to coordinate multiple tasks within a cohesive system.

Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience collaborating with local organizations/nonprofits.
