Qualifications
Active Certified General Appraiser License issued by Tennessee Real Estate Appraiser Commission.
Two years of professional experience performing review appraisals and general real property appraisal work.
Class D driver's license valid in the State of Tennessee.
Overview
Appraisals are primarily requested, performed, completed and received by TDOT for use on funded transportation projects. The role involves establishing fair market value of properties acquired for highway projects and surplus properties to be sold. The Senior ROW Appraiser performs appraisal reviews and, on occasion, appraisals of property acquired by the State for projects of greater value and complexity.
Responsibilities
Performs appraisal reviews and preliminary cost estimates.
Manages and documents appraisal records.
Conducts property appraisals and valuation analysis.
Acts as an expert witness in hearings and depositions.
Serves as a liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and departmental guidelines.
Oversees and evaluates consultant appraisers.
Provides project support and communication.
Trains and mentors staff.
