Maintenance Mechanic (Production Tech)
Location: Crown Beverage Packaging, Fort Bend Plant #060, 12910 Jess Pirtle Blvd, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.

Position Overview The Maintenance Mechanic (Production Tech) will manage, maintain, and repair automated production machines or equipment involved in the manufacturing of aluminum cans. The selected candidate will work closely with a team, including a Team Coordinator and Team Leader, to ensure continuous production quality and operational reliability.
Responsibilities
Maintain and oversee the operation of machinery and equipment to produce high‑quality cans.
Inspect cans against customer specifications, adjusting processes as needed to meet standards.
Replenish inks, oils, chemicals, fluids, and other supplies and clear jammed or damaged cans.
Operate forklifts for material handling and may handle loading/unloading of trucks or rail cars.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair machine malfunctions, performing mechanical repairs such as part replacements and installations.
Lubricate, clean, and set up machinery, including dismantling, fitting, and assembling tools as required.
Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine required stock and perform maintenance tasks.
Repair electronic or electrical equipment, performing maintenance, repair, and installation on a variety of devices.
Maintain paperwork including SPC charts, logbook entries, maintenance checklists, and initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment.
Complete additional duties assigned by the team or management.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Availability for various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
Experience in maintenance and repair of production machines and equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for machine malfunctions.
Significant experience operating production machines.
Technical training, education, or equivalent experience may substitute for required work experience.
Preferred Requirements
At least 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
Competencies
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Use of geometry, trigonometry, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret varied instructions.
Teamwork: Work effectively both individually and in a collaborative team environment.
Commitment to ongoing training and development.
Physical Requirements
Regular standing, walking, and use of hands to handle controls and reach with arms.
Climbing, balancing, talking, and hearing frequently required.
Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling necessary.
Regular lifting up to 10 pounds; frequent lifting up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.
Vision: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Working Conditions
High‑speed automated production environment, 24/7 operation.
Constant pressure to maintain high‑quality production and continuous line operation.
Rotating shifts: 12‑hour shifts with 4 days on/4 days off, rotating days to nights every two cycles.
Exposure to hot or cold temperatures, moving mechanical parts, chemical fumes, vibration, and noise.
Potential electrical shock, exposure to highly exposed work areas, and elevated wet and humid conditions.
