Location San Luis Obispo County, CA – California Men's Colony (CMC) in San Luis Obispo.

Pay Range Base pay range: $35.28–$43.39 per hour. (Estimated annual salary: $6,134.00–$7,843.00).

Job Description & Duties Under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor (US) or the Supervising Registered Nurse II (SRN II), the Psychiatric Technician is responsible for:

Providing direction to Psychiatric Technicians and other personnel who provide general psychiatric nursing care.

Maintaining the safety of persons and property.

Supervising the conduct of inmates.

Participating in the overall psychiatric treatment program.

Managing a limited-term position of 12 months with the possibility of extension to 24 months or a transition to a permanent role.

Adhering to the Personal Leave Program 2025, which requires a 3% base salary reduction for eligible employees and grants 5 leave credits monthly through June 2027.

Qualifications (Minimum)

Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE.

Applicants within four months of completing the accredited BVNPTE curriculum may be admitted, provided they secure the required license before appointment.
