Job Function and Areas of Impact The Operations Assistant supports the execution of all post-receipt and installation-related activities at MDI. This role is responsible for getting product into the home—including coordinating deliveries, facilitating installs, being on-site for execution, and resolving issues that arise after product has been received.
By facilitating installation logistics and post-receipt problem solving, the Operations Assistant plays a key role in ensuring smooth installs, minimizing escalation, and delivering a polished, turnkey client experience. The role reports to the Director of Procurement & Operations and works closely with the Design Team and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule deliveries and installations
Be on-site for deliveries and installs as needed
Support real-time problem solving during installs
Act as a primary point of contact for warehouses, installers, and delivery partners
Manage damaged goods post-receipt, including initiating and tracking RAs
Coordinate pickups, replacements, and resolution of install-related issues
Ensure install-related issues are followed through to completion
Administrative, Logistics & Inventory Support
Run installation and delivery reports
Assist with transport of client inventory to storage facilities as needed
Make deliveries and pick-ups as required
Maintain organization of the storage room and inventory of the install kit, ensuring it is stocked and ready
Qualifications and Skills
Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Comfortable being on‑site and in motion
Confident, calm, and solution‑oriented under pressure
Able to make judgment calls within defined scope without excessive escalation
Familiar with luxury service expectations and client‑facing environments
Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
Ability to remain focused and productive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in the use of computers, tablets, and mobile devices for daily operations—skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to understand and ensure adherence to documented operational processes and compliance standards
