Responsibilities

Perform routine storekeeping duties in a warehouse, canteen, commissary, or storeroom; operate a tool storeroom or gift shop; recommend new or modified storage methods; lead/supervise staff, offenders, residents engaged in loading/unloading/storing/distributing inventory items.

Receive/unpack incoming inventory items; inspect for quality/quantity; refer major decisions regarding non‑conformance with specifications to a designated supervisor; label and place inventory items in appropriate storage areas; rotate as necessary; operate a cash register; count money; price items; and place merchandise on shelves; operate forklifts/pallet jacks/other material handling equipment.

Fill requisitions; prepare items to be delivered or shipped; order inventory using established specifications to replenish stock based on pre‑determined inventory levels/reorder points; maintain computerized/manual records of inventory items received/store/issued/ordered/returned/​disposed/sold.

Takes physical inventories to determine quantities on hand and/or reconcile records; maintain clean/ orderly storage/stores areas; exercise independence in the performance of duties under general supervision; perform other related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Two or more years of experience as a Stores Clerk with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

Or two or more years of experience maintaining inventory items and related records AND possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year).

All requested documents must be received by the closing date listed. Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:

A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).

A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full‑time at a qualifying facility.

A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
