Job Overview As a member of the Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management & Fire Prevention, the Emergency Management Office Assistant provides support to all members of the Division under the direction of the Emergency Management & Fire Prevention Director.

Responsibilities

Manage calendars, room reservations, and meeting logistics.

Organize and process fire inspection requests and reports.

Maintain multiple spreadsheets and online systems.

Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentation materials.

Copy files and maintain records.

Assist with special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED; certificate or vocational training preferred.

1 year of relevant experience (2-4 years preferred).

Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Comfortable with Adobe products (Acrobat, Photoshop).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects independently.

Excellent critical thinking, problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work independently and cooperatively with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and outside agencies.

Valid driver’s license required.

Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, or blueprints desired.

CPR and first aid certification desired.

Salary Target hiring range: $18.37 – $23.99 per hour.

Location Blankenship Hall (0360)
