Summary

Operate baling equipment to control excess non-salable merchandise and supply salvage merchandise to external vendors.

Operate a stand‑alone tipping machine, maintaining consistent bale density.

Sort non‑bale material from those acceptable for baling.

Place bales in holding areas.

Use hand stacker and forklift to load bales onto trailers or move throughout facility.

Sort product down to separate salvage lines.

Perform duties according to safety expectations and procedures.

Ensure the physical safety of the back room and sales floor.

Communicate safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution.

Qualifications

At least 6 months of work history, unless this is your first job.

High school diploma or equivalent is not required.

Avoidance of any conflict of interest with product or customers.

Appropriate and professional communication and demeanor.

Ability to remain on task and meet production standards.

Commitment to the mission of the organization.

Understanding of the importance of the donor and salvage processes and how they support the mission.

Must be able to tolerate loud noises and dust.

Must be able to perform all job duties using required safety equipment.

Ability to become certified to operate a forklift and/or hand stacker.
