Pay Range: $28.00/hr - $36.00/hr.
Job Summary: The Main Line Utilities Foreman will guide, assign, schedule, and supervise the work of staff to ensure production goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follows Values, Vision, and Mission
Oversees crew members to ensure quality work is performed in a timely manner day‑to‑day.
Determines project daily requirements and procedures, and selects required materials and workers.
Understands Scope of Work and change orders with proper documentation (generates signature/approval before proceeding).
Reviews purchase orders and releases material.
Tracks material stock and orders.
Identifies and resolves problems to achieve production goals.
Performs daily logs describing any issues, production, and conversations throughout the day (recaps via email/smartsheet) with proper documentation.
Conducts weekly field meetings with GC’s/clients and communicates properly.
Operates equipment and tools (working Foreman).
Coaches future leaders.
Sets safety example by following safety guidelines and ensures all crew members follow safety, including morning huddles.
Manages weekly crew time and attendance.
Performs topo shots and supplies to DTK.
Schedules daily inspections.
Schedules/ performs testing of utility systems and/or subgrade compaction with updated testing logs for sanitary/water/storm.
Develops 2‑week look‑ahead schedules.
Documents through daily logs, photos, and emails.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Expert in laborer duties.
Strong troubleshooting ability.
Strong ability to set line and grade.
Thorough understanding of construction trades, materials, methods, and tools.
Knowledge of all types of pipes and fittings.
Strong ability to read blueprints and construction specs.
Understanding of earthwork (cut/fill) and utility installation process.
Strong listening and direction‑following skills.
Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
Willingness to learn, develop, coach, and train.
Ability to understand schedules and forward thinking.
Knowledge of GPS and technology equipment.
Education and Experience:
6+ years construction experience.
Task Lead experience.
Valid driver’s license or state ID.
CPR and First Aid (Thompson will train if necessary).
10‑hour OSHA certification.
30‑hour OSHA certification.
Physical Requirements:
Traverse different types of worksites; bend, climb, stretch, and reach.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push/pull 50‑pound loads.
Work in environments with concrete, dirt, fumes, and noise.
Stand and walk up to eight hours per day.
Work long hours and Saturdays when needed.
Required Tool:
Utility knife.
Clothes with no large holes or cut offs for varying weather conditions.
