Position Overview Habitat Charlotte is seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse/Donations Assistant to support backroom operations and donation handling. This part‑time role is essential to maintaining an organized donation dock and sales floor while providing outstanding service to customers and donors.
Key Responsibilities
Assist customers with unloading donations and loading purchased items
Safely and efficiently move merchandise to and from the sales floor
Communicate donation‑acceptance policies and offer alternatives for unaccepted items
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized backroom and donation dock
Collaborate effectively with staff and volunteers to support store operations
Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with all customers, donors, and team members
Adhere to safety protocols and consistently follow schedule and attendance expectations
Represent Habitat Charlotte professionally at all times
Perform additional Habitat‑related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Dependable transportation to and from work
Warehouse experience preferred
Ability to operate a forklift as needed (certification provided)
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, over 50 lbs with assistance
Move merchandise and stand for extended periods
Work outdoors in all types of weather
Obtain forklift certification and operate a forklift regularly
Work Environment Work is performed indoors in a retail setting and outdoors at the donation dock and warehouse, which may or may not be climate controlled.
