Position Description As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will oversee all day‑to‑day restaurant operations, ensuring guests and staff have a memorable experience. The role involves team leadership, problem‑solving under pressure, and maintaining high standards of service, safety, and sanitation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure timely, friendly service in accordance with company guidelines and achieve unit objectives.
Cultivate a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's core values.
Respond promptly to verbal guest complaints and resolve issues.
Prioritize guest contact and complete required table visits per Flynn standards.
Maintain departmental inventory levels.
Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards through line checks.
Effectively schedule employees to meet sales demands.
Maintain effective safety and security programs.
Promote and lead restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation.
Perform routine maintenance and report repairs to the General Manager or Area Director.
Promote quality recruitment and referral of potential team members and management candidates.
Promote Flynn Training procedures for new managers.
Help maintain a trained staff through effective orientation, training sessions, meetings, and implementation of company policy and training systems.
Participate in constant employee development using One‑On‑One and performance documentation, and contribute to written evaluations.
Assess employee efficiency, provide fair feedback, and continuously work with employees on development areas.
Monitor employee performance and document situations requiring disciplinary action.
Assure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
Control cost in assigned department.
Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Drive bi‑weekly or weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM’s request.
Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.
Ensure sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards.
Model a role for managers and employees.
Develop self in all store‑related technology.
Will be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed, including cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending, etc.
Use the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.
Education & Experience
At least 2‑3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Compensation Applebee’s® Assistant Managers earn $18.18 to $25.71 per hour, approximately $51,994 to $73,530 annually based on a 50‑hour work week, with potential monthly bonus where applicable.
Physical Standards
Work various shifts, including weekends.
Stand and exert mobility for up to ten hours.
Safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Read and write to facilitate communication.
Possess finger and hand dexterity for use of small tools and equipment.
