Maintenance Technician

Location:

Bloomingdale, IL (On-site), M-F 5pm to 1am

Employment Type:

Full-Time, Temp-to-hire

Base Pay Range $30.00/hr - $38.00/hr

Job Overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This hands‑on role requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise and plays a key part in supporting safe, efficient, and high‑performing operations.

Key Responsibilities Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment according to scheduled plans.

Identify early‑stage issues and resolve them proactively to prevent downtime.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment including motors, gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, and PLC‑controlled systems.

Address issues ranging from minor repairs to complex system failures.

Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems

Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment to ensure reliable, uninterrupted production.

Electrical Systems

Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs on 12–48V DC and 110–480V AC systems.

Install and maintain electrical components including relays, starters, and drives.

Assist with installation and configuration of new machinery, ensuring proper power and control wiring.

Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Safety Compliance

Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Comply with OSHA regulations and promote a safe work environment.

Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

Support initiatives that improve maintenance processes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong problem‑solving abilities across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Proficiency with PLCs, AC/DC motors, drives, starters, relays, and general troubleshooting tools.

Effective team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CMMS systems for documentation and tracking.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced, evolving production environment.

Education & Experience

Completion of an industrial apprenticeship or a 2‑year technical program

with 3+ years

of industrial experience preferred.

Alternatively,

5+ years

of hands‑on experience as an industrial maintenance technician/electrician in a manufacturing environment.

Experience troubleshooting and maintaining a wide range of machinery, electrical systems, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and PLCs.
