Base pay range:

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Responsibilities

Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Register sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous, friendly, and efficient checkout service.

Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy; use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues and ensuring a positive experience.

Demonstrate customer service best practices, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, proactive help, needs identification, and service until satisfied.

Provide courteous, fast, and efficient service; recommend items for sale; register purchases; handle voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.

Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; take inventory and maintain records; check in and price merchandise as directed.

Utilize pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions, verify medicine, and check for possible interactions; report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.

Handle telephone calls that do not require direct pharmacist attention, including calls to physicians.

Process and correct manual claims for third‑party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner; assist with inventory management activities (ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals).

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).

Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise; perform resets and revisions as directed.

Assist with separation of food items, product placement, and stock rotation using first‑in, first‑out methods.

Assist with photo area services and web pick‑up responsibilities (monitoring orders, picking items, delivering to customers).

Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.

Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers; complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification/registration.

Attend training and complete required PPLs; acquire continuing education credits; maintain knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy updates.

Basic Qualifications

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

At least six months of experience in a retail environment.

Prior work experience with Walgreens.

Good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).

Good computer skills.

Knowledge of store inventory control.

PTCB certification.
