Job Summary Virginia Mason is seeking a certified Medical Assistant. You will assist providers and other members of the health care team in the clinic by performing a variety of back‑office and patient‑related tasks and ensuring smooth patient flow within the department. You will also perform a variety of patient‑care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, including but not limited to injections, EKGs, ear lavage and blood draws, measuring patient vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature), managing rooming and patient flow including pre‑visit preparation, assisting with the patient visit, and post‑visit duties. You will inform providers of schedule changes that impact patient flow, assist with front‑office activities and varied scheduling tasks, and report test results as directed by the provider. Responsibilities
Assisting physicians with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and administering medications.
Performing administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and processing insurance claims.
Providing excellent customer service to patients.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution or validation of equivalent military training (i.e., Hospital Corpsman) that demonstrates attainment of requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
Certified (CM) or Medical Assistant Interim (IC) credential required.
Knowledge of third‑party payer requirements required.
Strong aptitude for detail and ability to work independently required.
Strong organizational, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
Skill in using a PC required.
