The Practice Communications Coordinator is a central point of contact for patients and referring providers within the Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease. The focus of this role will be on patient engagement and follow up to voicemails/messsages. This versatile, “jack-of-all-trades” role focuses on responding to messages for all providers, following up on clinic appointments, and coordinating procedures, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients and providers alike.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly and professionally to messages from patients, referring providers, and internal staff, addressing questions, clarifying information, and coordinating appointment or procedural requests.

Coordinate and schedule patient appointments across GI and colorectal subspecialties, ensuring accuracy of patient demographics, insurance details, and referral information.

Schedule procedures for all subspecialty providers, including communicating preoperative requirements, providing prep instructions, and following up to ensure patients are prepared for their procedures.

Follow up with patients and providers regarding upcoming appointments, procedure status, or missing information to support continuity of care.

Identify opportunities to improve communication workflows, reduce delays, and enhance the overall patient and provider experience.

Requirements Education and Work Experience:

Must possess a high school diploma or GED

Prefer a minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role within a Medical Office Environment

Prefer a Bachelors degree in management, healthcare administration
