Quality Lab Tech (2nd Shift)

Supports manufacturing through the inspection and assessment of product quality.
Shift Hours 2:45pm - 11:00pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must also have a good understanding of all other manufacturing technologies currently being utilized in the manufacturing process including but not limited to:
Extrusion lamination and coating
Adhesive lamination
Gravure coating and printing
Following standard methods and techniques, inspects and tests product to ensure it meets customer and product specifications, and alert production when standards are not met
Puts questionable product on hold, organize re-work if necessary, and inspect returned product.
Prepares routine reports – including gathering and summarizing data
Tests and verifies raw materials as needed.
Assists in training quality and production employees in quality assurance procedures and standards
Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment. Participates in the GMP
Performs Capability and Gage R&R Studies monitoring process improvement efforts.
Advises production personnel of quality problems & works together with Supervision to develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous quality assurance experience preferred.
Ability to input and retrieve information on a computer.
Basic understanding of equipment and processes.
Good communication and interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Basic mathematical skills and understanding of units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense and problem solve.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequently stand, walk, talk, and hear.
Occasionally sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequently moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and vibration.
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and wearing hearing protection is required.
