Role Description This is a full-time, on‑site role based in Waynesboro, GA, for a Deputy School Resource Officer (SRO). The Deputy SRO will be responsible for ensuring school safety, maintaining order, and building positive relationships with students, staff, and the community. Daily tasks include patrolling school premises, implementing security protocols, enforcing laws, responding to incidents, and educating students about safety and crime prevention. The SRO will also collaborate with school personnel to address issues, provide guidance, and foster a safe learning environment.
Qualifications
Understanding of law enforcement practices, with knowledge of safety protocols and legal compliance.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Proficiency in problem‑solving, decision‑making, and conflict resolution.
Eagerness to engage in public outreach and educate youth on safety and crime prevention.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform duties required in a law enforcement role.
Completion of law enforcement training and certification as a peace officer (or eligibility to become certified).
Previous experience in law enforcement or school resource officer roles is preferred.
Strong commitment to ethical practices and serving the community with fairness and respect.
