What You'll Do
Prepare computer‑based drafting using Carlson and AutoCAD.
Perform occasional field work and research of deeds and land records.
Ensure safety is always prioritized.
Provide excellent customer service to clients.
Obtain project information, review and verify drawings, and confirm design objectives.
Check field data against applicable standards.
Interpret control point records and data sheets.
Perform and check survey calculations, including volumes and areas.
Support construction layout with line and grade computations.
Process and reduce field data for import into CADD.
Use drawings, sketches, customer drawings, or government drawings/specifications.
Follow accepted drawing standards as guidelines.
Prepare final survey documents, drawings, and reports in accordance with standards.
Complete and verify own work for completeness and accuracy.
Research deeds and land records; prepare deed composites for boundary determination.
May prepare cost and quantity estimates or design calculations.
Desired Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school courses in computer‑aided drafting desirable.
At least 4 years of computer drafting experience.
2 to 3 years of survey work experience.
Knowledge of surveying ethics and technical standards.
Familiarity with terminology and principles of conventional drafting.
