Meat/Seafood Clerk
We are looking for a dedicated Meat/Seafood Clerk to join our team at
Sprouts Farmers Market . This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service, managing protein products, and ensuring safe and efficient food handling.
Overview Work with protein foods, learn a skilled craft, and help customers make healthy choices in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
Responsibilities
Provide a high level of customer service and product knowledge.
Receive, store, grind, unload, and transport meats and poultry from delivery trucks.
Count and weigh incoming articles, compare results against invoices, and inspect meats in storage.
Rotate meats to avoid aging and maintain freshness.
Adhere to “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
Perform general housekeeping: clean and sanitize work area, tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, and freezer.
Assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs, keeping a positive, customer-focused environment.
Qualifications
Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Show basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
Dependable, reliable, and capable of performing related duties as assigned.
Outgoing and friendly; positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Good communication skills: take direction and participate in a team environment.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, walk up to 2 miles, and lift loads up to 90 lbs.
Good vision required for cutting, using knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, and other equipment.
Ability to use pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs.
Additional physical requirements regarding moving racks and tables as described above.
