Collection Specialist

What you can expect:
Service Excellence
- Initiates outbound collection calls to members with past due accounts on auto installment loans, lease loans, personal loans, revolving credit loans and VISAs. In conformance with the Fair Debt Collection practices (and other regulations)
Details Matter
- Accurately documents collection effort information (promise to pay, next contact date) in the collections system.
Follow Procedure
- Performs all responsibilities in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), FACT Act and Fair Debt Collections Act. Completes annual training on same to maintain understanding and proficiency.

- Contributes to the positive image of the Credit Union by maintaining courteous, respectful, and professional interactions with members and internal teams.
Tools of the Trade
- Manages assigned collection queue, working with members to secure payments or payment agreements on delinquent accounts, taking appropriate action to correct or bring loans current.
What we're looking for:
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent and/or customer/member service experience, preferably within a call center environment or financial services industry. The ability to learn collections laws and regulations is also required.

Strong proficiency with systems and software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Office hours Monday through Friday with rotating Saturday shifts every 6 weeks.
