Toxic Tort & Environmental Associate Attorney The San Francisco, CA office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Toxic Tort & Environmental Practice.

The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills and 1–7 years of experience in all phases of toxic tort, habitability and environmental litigation, including case management, motion practice, discovery, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials. Admission to the California Bar is required.

Lewis Brisbois represents clients across a diverse spectrum—from individual partners and closely held corporations to Fortune 500 companies—across state, federal, and administrative hearings and trials, including Superfund multi‑site litigation and coordinated Federal Multi‑District Litigation. Our clients range from generators and landowners to municipalities, site operators, and insurance carriers, both foreign and domestic.

Although we would prefer that you have some experience in toxic tort, habitability and environmental law, we also welcome talented attorneys with substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in this field.

Responsibilities

Case management, motion practice, discovery, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials in toxic tort, habitability, and environmental litigation.

Handle multi‑site federal Superfund litigation and coordinated Federal Multi‑District Litigation.

Represent a diverse client base—including manufacturers, real‑estate developers, governmental agencies, and insurance carriers—across state, federal, and administrative courts.

Support strategic litigation planning and client counsel across all litigation stages.

Qualifications

Admission to the California Bar.

1–7 years of experience in toxic tort, habitability, and environmental litigation.

Strong research and writing skills.

Experience in motion practice, discovery, hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.

Interest in toxic tort and environmental law; willingness to learn is preferred.

Compensation Minimum Salary: USD $135,000 per year Maximum Salary: USD $180,000 per year
