Base Pay Range $17.00/hr – $20.00/hr

Responsibilities

Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front‑end and pharmacy.

Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.

Champion On‑Shelf Availability; manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in‑store inventory processes.

Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.

Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications that impact front‑end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.

Execute and maintain asset protection techniques for front‑end and pharmacy; file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.

In designated stores, open and close the store in the absence of store management; perform required systems start‑ups, cash handling, and cashier responsibilities, ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for business.

Customer Experience

Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.

When serving as the leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

Model and share customer service best practices with all team members.

Operations

Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.

Scan all deliveries while the vendor is still in the store; focus on One Box receiving and take appropriate action for deliveries.

Under pharmacist supervision, verify all pharmacy shipments and complete postings for warehouse orders, prescription and OTC orders, and other daily activities.

Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process, including warehouse and DSD for planogrammed departments.

Under pharmacist supervision, complete pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls and vendor returns.

Execute all pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, and regulatory pricing tasks.

Support front‑end and pharmacy ordering of expense items; monitor manual orders to identify excess orders.

Maintain accurate inventory counts for all departments, stockroom, and pharmacy.

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Assist in preparing for physical inventory and support inventory day activities.

Keep all counters and shelves clean and well merchandised.

Assist and coach the store team on package delivery activities and the Pickup Program.

When serving as the leader on duty, handle all point‑of‑sale responsibilities including returns and cash drops.

Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Complete any additional activities and tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Attend company‑based trainings and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training requirements.

Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by state.

Communications

Serve as liaison between management and non‑management team members; coach and develop others on inventory systems.

When leading on duty, communicate tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the prior 12 months (internal candidates only).

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.

Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.

Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
