Paganelli Law Group
Paganelli Law Group
is a mid-sized Indiana firm built on two core values: Quality Law and Quality Life. We practice at a high level while intentionally building a sustainable, collaborative culture for our lawyers and staff.
We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney for our Indianapolis office to join our commercial litigation practice, which includes complex business, real estate, and contract disputes. This role is designed for an experienced litigator who is ready to take meaningful ownership of cases, exercise sound judgment under pressure, and contribute to the professional growth of the team.
The Role You will work closely with our other litigators and support staff to manage active matters from early strategy through resolution. You will be expected to independently handle significant portions of cases while serving as a steadying, reliable presence for teammates operating at full capacity.
Responsibilities
Manage assigned litigation matters or major components of larger cases
Draft and review pleadings, motions, and discovery with minimal supervision
Prepare for and handle depositions, hearings, and client communications appropriate to experience
Identify issues early and elevate strategically— not reactively
Collaborate closely with senior attorneys to align strategy and execution
Mentor junior attorneys through example, feedback, and day-to-day collaboration
Maintain consistent timekeeping and meet productivity expectations
Meet a goal of 1,440 billable hours per year (120 per month)
Mentorship and Team Leadership Mentorship at PLG is practical and embedded in daily work. Senior and mid‑career attorneys are expected to lead by example—demonstrating judgment, professionalism, and steady decision‑making—rather than managing through hierarchy or volume. This role includes helping less‑experienced lawyers develop good instincts, sound work habits, and confidence under pressure.
What Success Looks Like In the first ninety days, a successful attorney in this role will:
Be trusted to run with assigned matters without constant oversight
Anticipate problems and propose solutions rather than waiting for directionLighten—not add to—the cognitive load of senior lawyers
Demonstrate openness to feedback and continuous improvement
Qualifications
At least 10 years of civil or commercial litigation experience
Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Sound professional judgment and emotional steadiness
Experience mentoring or informally leading other lawyers is a plus
A portable book of business is welcome but not required
Compensation and Benefits PLG offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience and role, along with performance‑based bonus opportunities. Our benefits package includes subsidized insurance benefits, retirement plan options, paid time off, and flexibility designed to support long‑term professional sustainability.
