Job Description To manage a team responsible for the implementation and maintenance of information systems, and to plan and direct all aspects of system design, implementation and maintenance, ensuring technology solutions effectively support and enhance organizational operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Provides leadership and strategic direction in the analysis, selection, design, implementation and support of information systems solutions. Prepares recommendations on short and long term goals and objectives for systems innovation and maintenance functions.
Directs and supervises staff, users and vendors in systems development and support functions with an emphasis on functional, efficient, cost effective and secure solutions. Supervises, through weekly review, the progress and quality of development and support activities.
Develops and enforces standards for system documentation, change management and ongoing staff development.
Provides both functional and technical leadership for system implementation, support, enhancements, and modifications, whether internally or vendor developed.
Establishes, with senior management, appropriate key performance indicators for the team. Commits to performance excellence, communicates priorities, analyzes data and leads process improvement activities.
Supervises the development of project plans and estimates and schedules resources, monitors and reports project progress against established work plans to Director on a weekly basis. Ensures that project and service commitments, deadlines and budgets are met or exceeded. Informs senior management regularly of status, progress, issues problems, etc.
Assigns staff for projects consistent with the health system, department and team priorities with consideration to appropriate workload balancing and staff development needs.
Effectively coordinates staff, user and vendor personnel involved in multiple development projects and support activities. Guides staff in the utilization of contemporary system development tools and methodologies.
Manages the analysis, selection, design, implementation and support of information systems solutions. Manages the design, implementation and user training information systems and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
