Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Staff Accountant to work with the Director of Accounting to oversee and manage the financial operations at Park Springs. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining budgets, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to navigate a fast‑paced work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Analyze financial data, identify trends, and present reports to senior management.
Oversee the preparation of internal and external financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Accounting Operations
Perform and manage day‑to‑day accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
Ensure all financial transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring discrepancies are addressed promptly.
Participate in monthly closing of books and preparation of financial statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets.
Prepare forecasts and provide financial insight to senior management for planning purposes.
Review budget variances and offer recommendations for financial optimization.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Collaborate with auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and assistance.
Maintain strong knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
Team Leadership & Development
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, ensuring efficient workflow and high performance.
Special Projects & Process Improvements
Participate in special projects related to annual audit, accounting systems, process improvements, or system upgrades.
Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in senior living or healthcare industries.
Experience with MatrixCare software.
