Job Summary The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This position involves care of children and adolescents in the departmental outpatient clinic and community clinics, supervising residency and delivery of outpatient services, and facilitating pre‑clinical medical student case‑based learning small groups.
Responsibilities
Provide attending physician services and supervise residents/fellows at a community inpatient and residential treatment facility as requested by department leadership.
Provide outpatient patient care services at community treatment agencies contracted with the department.
Provide outpatient clinical services at the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior outpatient clinic; may include resident/fellow supervision.
Provide didactic instruction to medical students, general psychiatry residents, and child and adolescent fellows.
Participate in child and adolescent psychiatry call (approximately once every six weeks on a weekday night, and once every six weeks for weekend call). These assignments may change because of faculty availability.
Required Qualifications
MD, DO, or MBBS Degree required; board eligible; training in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation.
Evidence of ability as a teacher.
Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
Desirable personal qualities judged on interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Shift, Salary, and Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. Full‑time equivalent (FTE) is 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds.
