Area Manager, Fulfillment Operations (Night Shift)
Join ShipBob as an Area Manager in a high-volume 3PL fulfillment center. You will lead, develop, and manage a team of 30+ warehouse associates across a night shift, driving process improvement, ensuring safety, and maintaining operational excellence.

Role Description The Area Manager is a people‑first leader responsible for directly managing and developing a team of leads and associates. You’ll drive process improvement, track operational performance across various metrics, foster employee engagement, and own development of your team. This role reports to the Operations Manager, Fulfillment Operations.
What You’ll Do
Manage, build, and develop a team of 30+ warehouse associates (Temp and FTE).
Review weekly work forecasts and identify productivity requirements to meet overall building objectives.
Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor and maintain efficient shift performance.
Own operational metric reporting (VCPO, UPH, OPH, on‑time receiving and shipping, merchant SLA’s, injury rate) and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure teams are trained on processes, understand metrics and performance goals, and are accountable.
Develop Lead talent and provide necessary tools, training, and resources.
Actively foster employee engagement through activities, events, and programs.
Review and approve associate timecards daily.
Serve as the contact for escalated issues and resolve them quickly.
Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance.
Supervise daily workflows to ensure products are handled safely and meet quality standards.
Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.
What You’ll Bring To The Table
2+ years of people‑management and operational leadership experience within a high‑volume 3PL fulfillment environment.
Experience in ecommerce, retail, or manufacturing industries (preferred).
Ability to manage performance, deliver feedback, and develop talent for professional growth.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI, and TMS systems.
Strong analytical skills and experience tracking and achieving KPIs.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Comfort navigating and managing ambiguity.
Hard‑working, detail‑oriented, and passionate about helping small businesses compete online.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders and carrier partners.
Willingness to work rotating shifts and non‑traditional hours as needed.

Compensation Base Salary:
$54,878 - $91,463 plus incentive opportunities.
