Position Summary
The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking an Operations Manager for the Radiation Oncology department. The role supports departmental leadership across administrative, financial, facilities, compliance, planning, fiscal, and recruitment functions.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support: manage schedules and calendars, arrange travel, handle telephone communications, and resolve administrative inquiries.
Assist with financial reporting: research data, generate reports, and prepare presentations.
Manage facilities requests: oversee supply inventory, security, key and locker designations, and purchasing activities related to equipment and reimbursements.
Support clinical and support staff and faculty compliance: manage licensure, certifications, and credentialing to meet university, local, state, and federal requirements.
Plan large‑scale acquisitions and dispositions; support space allocation, remodels, and department‑level facility maintenance.
Handle fiscal affairs: budget planning, expenditures, cost analysis, supply research and acquisition, expense payments, account reconciliation, reporting, and staff educational stipends.
Lead recruitment activities: recruit UNM faculty, UNMMG, and clinical and support staff; manage onboarding documentation.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing fiscal services, administration, and/or human resources, plus 3 additional years of directly related experience. Accredited degree(s) above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of business practices and procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong time‑management skills.
Experience in month‑end and year‑end financial and quality metric reporting.
Conditions of Employment
Compliance with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement for patient‑care or clinical staff.
If located at the UNM Children’s Campus, successful candidates must pass a comprehensive background check (criminal, CYFD fingerprint, etc.) and maintain status through periodic re‑checks.
