Role Summary
Information Technology Specialist – FAA (Washington, DC or Atlantic City, NJ). This position supports FAA NAS Security and Enterprise Operations (NASEO) to minimize the impact of cybersecurity events or incidents and support availability and restoration requirements for ATO systems and services. Essential Functions
Provide expertise in compiling, arranging, storing, and retrieving information to support FAA customers, projects, or programs. Administer, evaluate, install, maintain, and support LANs and WANs. Design, test, and implement interface programs; develop security procedures; regulate usage; maintain VMware Virtual Production VSphere – ESXi 6.7 and development LAN environments; work on hyperconverged infrastructure and VXRail solutions. Complete schema exports required for test and development environments when refreshed per release development plan, disaster recovery/COOP test, or environment upgrade. Coordinate with DBA to monitor patches (UNIX, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL). Implement large‑scale LAN and WAN application networks; troubleshoot problem areas; design, test, build servers, backup, networking, and operations. Coordinate network policy, procedures, and standards. Assist training of users. Must Haves
6–10 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in a related information technology field; 5 years of experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree or MBA in a related field may substitute for bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience. PhD in a related field may substitute for bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience. Knowledge of VMware. Experience with hyperconverged systems such as Dell EMC VXRail; knowledge of VSAN. Benefits
