Overview Fleet Services is a leading on‑site mobile maintenance provider for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks. We offer scheduled and unscheduled services nationwide, with a 24/7 call center and mobile service trucks.
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and use sound judgment to evaluate alternatives.
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on company‑issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliation.
Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
Work with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve problems.
Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, and diesel tools, including welding equipment, lifting rigs, and jacks.
Document work according to company standards; upload pictures, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) via company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application.
Accurately complete DOT forms and all required documentation in a timely manner.
Work independently and manage own daily schedule.
Maintain high productivity; work within or close to standard repair times.
Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed.
Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, procure purchase order numbers, or discuss RO findings.
Perform work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Maintain company‑issued service truck and perform daily safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. Alternative combinations include a degree/certification beyond HS and 5 years of experience.
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the duties.
Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
Meet DOT/FMCSA regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical requirements.
Maintain a current and valid DOT medical card with at least four months remaining; a DOT physical is required if validity is less.
Be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority regulations.
Hold a valid state‑of‑residence driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File; safe driving record required.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
