Job Description Summary Position Responsibilities

Ensures compliance with JCAHO, HRS, OSHA, and other agency regulations as they relate to Environmental Services.

Ensures direction in the application of Environmental and Infection control standards and practices, CQI standards, and organizational goals and objectives.

Collaborates with the Director in the management of the overall operation of the department by effectively directing, planning and problem solving as evident by Press Ganey scores.

Collaborates daily with all assigned floor Nurse Managers or supervisors in charge of Ancillary Area to ensure the cleanliness and quality of work by Environmental Services.

Assists the Director in rational explanations for decisions and actions to staff, medical staff, hospital administration and patients.

Available to the hospital on a 24‑hour basis for emergency situations.

Ensures employee adherence to all Infection Control Policies and Procedures, Risk Management Policies and Procedures and OSHA requirements.

Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and provide resolutions to problems.

Follows up promptly on unresolved issues identified by the Coordinators on the off shift/weekends as evident by resolution of problems.

Maintains OT rate within approved limits.

Responsible for the monitoring Bed Tracking System and have the knowledge to operate the system effectively.

Education

High School plus college course in Business Administration or Health Care Management.

Experience

Five years experience as an environmental service coordinator, team leader or lead person in industrial/hotel or health care facility.
