Job Description Summary Position Responsibilities

Supervises the development of the staff work schedule, in accordance with the Medical Center and Department needs.

Coordinates the activities of the Distribution staff regarding stock rotation and expiration outdate procedures.

Supervises Pyxis and / or ESI Materials Management supply system functions.

Trains and updates personnel on a daily basis as specified in the policy and procedure for the Materials Management distribution department.

Evaluates all employees under direct supervision using guidelines of specific Job Description, and under the direction of the Department Manager.

Performs daily cycle counts of randomly selected items using the Materials Management software system.

Compares inventory count versus the computerized counts for accuracy on a daily basis.

Reports inventory variances and required adjustments to the Manager and the Buyers.

Checks stock to ensure proper stock rotation and outdated material on a daily basis.

Assists Manager in preparing annual physical inventory as required.

Receives Stock utilizing Materials Management system, assuring quantity received is accurate prior to releasing order as stated in policy and procedure manual.

Demonstrates a high level of accuracy when processing requisitions into Materials Management inventory system.

Stores all received goods in their designated location within the storeroom daily.

Distributes all materials as requested by other Medical Center Departments.

Reviews supply inventory available in the storeroom and advises Buyers as to urgently needed supply items.

Processes all supply issues to departments by entering requisitions into computer perpetual inventory system.

Demonstrates a significant level of medical supply product knowledge.

Demonstrates an understanding of appropriate level of supply inventory as it relates to current Medical Center census.

Demonstrates a knowledge of Medical Center accounting classifications and cost centers pertinent to a given supply purchase requisition.

Checks supplies for expiration dates and removes from shelves and / or carts as necessary.

Participates in new procedures in order to increase job knowledge.

Performs other specific duties as assigned.

Meets all deadlines for projects assigned by Management.

Conducts all Mount Sinai Medical Center and Miami Heart Institute business with vendors and department heads in a highly professional and ethical manner.

Qualifications

License/Registration/Certification

Must have a valid Driver's License in order to transport materials.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience

Five years experience in Warehousing and Receiving for Healthcare facilities. Supervisory experience required.
