Clinical Dietitian - Inpatient‑Nutrition Clinical Services

Shift:
Day Shift Hours; Rotating Saturday and Holiday Coverage
Job Summary Performs activities related to nutritional management/education of infant through adult patients for assigned divisions. Oversees the activities of diet technicians, dietetic interns, and dining service assistants. Manages these Nutrition Services personnel in day‑to‑day operations to provide quality care and promote patient safety. Develops and implements nutrition education programs targeted at hospital staff members including physicians, advanced‑practice providers, nurses, ancillary staff, and students. Participates in departmental activities as outlined. Maintains professional competencies. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from an institution approved/accredited by ACEND.
Registered Dietitian (RD) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Registered dietitian or licensed dietitian through the State Medical Board of Ohio, or a Limited Permit holder with registration eligibility.
Competent use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and electronic health record system.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in stressful environments.
Strong critical thinking skills with ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or related field from an accredited institution.
Board Certification in Nutrition Support.
Experience working in a clinical setting.
Physical Requirements
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
Visual, auditory, and finger dexterity within normal ranges.
May need to lift up to twenty‑five (25) pounds on occasion.
Ability to communicate face‑to‑face, by phone, email, and other media.
Exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids, chemicals.
