HR Generalist

The HR Generalist will use broad knowledge of human resources functions, to manage and/or support a variety of activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development and compliance with labor laws, promoting programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.

Job Duties:

  1. Administer policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with the applicable federal, state, company and contractual employment laws.
  2. Ensure that policies are followed and legal obligations to employees are met to minimize risk to the Company and maximize employee morale.
  3. Take the lead or supporting role in various HR projects, such as site administrative programs, compliance reviews, and employment labor law changes.
  4. Help organize, implement and track compliance for training and development initiatives.
  5. Facilitate recruitment by opening requisitions, screening applicants, and partner with the Hiring Manager to fill vacancies.
  6. Monitor the onboarding process to ensure new hire paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
  7. Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, addressing concerns, conducting investigations, and facilitating conflict resolution.
  8. Aid management in employee coaching, counseling and performance documentation.
  9. Support the processing of employee changes, including promotions, demotions, transfers, and terminations.
  10. Assist third-party vendor for leaves of absence administration.
  11. Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics.
  12. Ensure compliance with labor union regulations.

Internal Relationships/Partners:

  • Partner closely with Corporate HR/Payroll Operations and other departments in the discussion and resolution of employee issues.
  • Advise managers regarding Employee Relations issues.
  • Coordinate with Corporate HR and Payroll in the processing of changes in employment, including promotions, demotions, CBA or statutory wage increases.
  • May talk with Union Representative on Employee Grievance.
