Locums NP/PA - Cardiothoracic Surgery - Toledo, Ohio Clinical Role Overview

Assignment Details

  • Dates of Coverage:
    10 days per month covering two weekends
    January - April, then TBD

  • Reason for Coverage:
    Open position; training a new hire

  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe:
    60-90 days if file is clean (expedited when possible)

Practice & Schedule

  • Practice Setting:
    Office hours, inpatient post-op floor, and ICU care

  • Schedule:
    Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Call Schedule:
    10 days of call per month

  • Call Ratio:
    1:3

  • Average Patient Volume:
    12 patients per day

  • Trauma Designation:
    Level I

  • EMR:
    EPIC

Autonomy & Support

  • Will APP Work Autonomously: Yes

  • Supervising Physician:
    Rounds daily and available 24/7 by phone

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Suture removal

  • Diagnose and treat illnesses

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests

  • Write prescriptions

  • Coordinate patient care

  • Rounding

  • Pre-operative physical exams

Patient Population

  • Adult and geriatric patients

Required Qualifications (No Exceptions)

  • NCCPA Certification - Required

  • Active Ohio License - Required

  • BLS & ACLS - Required

  • Appropriate training and experience - Required

  • 100% clean background - Required
