Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - Hospitalist - OB in Fresno, CA
Are you a dedicated obstetrics and gynecology physician seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in patient care? We are actively recruiting a highly skilled and motivated Locum Physician-Hospitalist to provide exceptional inpatient obstetric services in a supportive Level 2 NICU hospital setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, including management of deliveries, rounds, and outpatient services.
- Attend approximately 13-14 patients daily, managing both vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality care.
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for documentation and care coordination.
- Work five to six 24-hour shifts per month, typically from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., with weekend shifts included.
- Participate in holiday coverage with premium pay, with no on-call duties required.
- Deliver an average of 4-5 babies per 24-hour shift, with a balanced mix of vaginal and surgical deliveries.
Required Skills:
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Proven experience with obstetric deliveries, including C-sections.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Valid DEA license and active state medical license or in the process of obtaining licensure.
- COVID-19 vaccination as per facility policy.
Nice to Have Skills:
- One to five years of relevant clinical practice experience.
- Experience working with electronic medical records, particularly EPIC.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Recent obstetric hospitalist experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong clinical skills with excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work 24-hour in-house shifts, with a schedule typically from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.
- Candidates must hold or be actively pursuing state licensure.
- No prior malpractice or licensing issues; all cases reviewed individually.
- Candidates interested in independent contractor roles (1099) are welcome.
- Credentialing fees are not reimbursed; initial start date targeted for August 12, 2025.
