This position assists in the operation of multiple facilities by configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining low voltage systems such as security, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, and network cabling. The technician performs maintenance checks, provides user support, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with teams to guarantee project success. Essential Functions
Sets up and configures low‑volume systems (e.g., security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling). Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards. Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability; identifies and resolves issues promptly to minimize downtime. Fixes any faults or damages in systems, restoring them to optimal working condition. Provides technical support and training to end users on operation and maintenance of low‑voltage systems. Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations. Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Maintains accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs; generates reports on performance and resolved issues. Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed and performs system upgrades accordingly. Works closely with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion. Communicates effectively with clients to understand needs and provide appropriate solutions. Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Leads and participates in teams by sharing resources, information, and tools; coordinating work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to meet timelines and quality standards. High school diploma or equivalent. Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. Prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards. Preferred Qualifications
Training or certification in low‑voltage systems. BICSI Installer Certification. CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+).
