Position Description As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of daily restaurant operations. You are responsible for creating a passionate experience for guests and staff alike, leading with problem‑solving, resilience under stress, and a drive to enjoy every day on the job.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure timely, friendly service that meets company guidelines and achieves unit objectives.
Cultivate a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee’s core values.
Respond quickly and effectively to all verbal guest complaints.
Prioritize guest contact by completing required table visits per Flynn Applebee’s standards.
Maintain departmental inventory levels.
Ensure product preparation meets company standards through line checks.
Schedule employees to meet sales demands.
Implement effective safety and security programs.
Promote cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the restaurant.
Perform routine maintenance and report repairs to the General Manager or Area Director.
Lead quality recruitment and referrals for potential team members and management candidates.
Encourage and support staff development through orientation, training sessions, meetings, and performance documentation.
Evaluate employee performance, provide regular feedback, and collaborate on development areas.
Document any disciplinary or corrective actions required.
Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures.
Control costs within the assigned department.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Perform bi‑weekly or weekly food and liquor inventories as requested by the AD/GM.
Prepare and submit accurate daily paperwork.
Maintain sanitation standards to meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s expectations.
Serve as a role model for managers and employees.
Develop proficiency in all store‑related technology.
Be willing to work in any position within the restaurant, including cooking, seating, bartending, and expo.
Utilize the Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth.
Education & Experience
At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits Applebee’s® Assistant Managers receive $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, roughly $60,000 to $78,000 annually for a 50‑hour work week, with potential monthly bonuses depending on location.
