Job Description:

Pay Range: $19.95hr - $22.17hr
  • The Phlebotomist II represents the face of the organization to patients as part of their routine healthcare or diagnostic needs.
  • This role is responsible for collecting quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures.
  • The Phlebotomist II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
  • The role demonstrates leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  • Assignments may include a doctor s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs.
  • Commitment to policies and procedures related to professional conduct, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver s license, if applicable.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong customer focus with clear, open, and professional communication skills.
Experience:
  • One to three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures.
  • Verify patient identification and specimen labeling in the patient s presence.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Qualification And Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
