THIS ROLE WILL BE ONSITE 5 DAYS PER WEEK IN QUEENS. 1+ MONTH TEMPORARY ROLE Reporting to the Controller or Senior Project Accountant the Jr Project Accountant performs basic accounting tasks/functions with training and supervision. Essential duties and responsibilities: ● Learn basic applications and principles of construction accounting ● Learn how to use modules in Sage Intacct as wells as Procore ● Process invoices, properly coding with project and cost code, entering into system for approval and payment. ● Cut checks to suppliers and subcontractors, verifying insurance & compliance are in place and lien waivers are properly executed and received. ● Prepare monthly preconstruction billings for review ● Assist team with monthly project requisition ● Assist in preparing monthly general conditions for inclusion in monthly requisition report ● Create internal payroll billing for inclusion in monthly general conditions ● Investigate vendor statements against accounts payable ledger, reaching out to vendors regarding discrepancies ● Work with project team to assist in collection of lender and owner required documentation for monthly reports ● Assist and prepare other reports as requested Qualifications ● Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred ● 0-3 years of Accounting/Finance experience ● Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Email, etc) ● Sage Intacct and Procore a + ● Must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills; strong analytical skills ● Must be highly organized with attention to details, results oriented and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities ● Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written ● Ability to safely navigate a construction site which includes the following: climbing ladders and stairs, use of job hoists, inclement weather conditions, hazardous/cluttered and dark area, etc.
