Administrative Assistant
The Salvation Army is hiring for an Administrative Assistant position. This role offers a competitive salary of $18 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The position is available ASAP and requires a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Administrative Assistant will report to the Business and Property Manager, Housing and Project Coordinator, and Director of Reed House.
The Salvation Army, Reed House is a 66 single room occupancy facility that houses formerly homeless residents in the south Philadelphia section of Philadelphia. It is funded by the city of Philadelphia through the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Continuum of Care funding source and the Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA). Residents are responsible for thirty percent of their rent, with PHA covering the remaining seventy percent.
Responsibilities include providing administrative support, word processing, filing, scheduling, record keeping, coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies, coordinating direct mailings, working on special projects, and creating visual presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software. The candidate must also proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and layout.
Qualifications include experience in multifamily maintenance and affordable, senior, or special needs housing, the ability to keep information confidential, a High School Diploma or GED, at least two years of building maintenance experience, use of a personal vehicle for rent deposits, the ability to work in a dynamic environment, good verbal and writing communication skills, and an understanding of The Salvation Army's mission. Child Protection Clearances are also required.
