Summary
The substitute teacher will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher. The ideal candidate will be flexible, dependable, and compassionate, with the ability to follow established lesson plans and routines while maintaining a positive learning atmosphere. The substitute teacher will support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child through meaningful interactions and activities. Strong communication skills and professionalism with staff, children, and families are essential.
Duties
Provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for children.
Follow the lesson plans, daily routines, and classroom expectations provided by the regular teacher.
Supervise and engage with children in developmentally appropriate activities.
Communicate effectively and positively with staff, children, and parents.
Ensure all center policies and state regulations are followed.
Maintain professionalism and uphold the values of the school and program.
Be available to accept substitute assignments on short notice as needed.
Requirements
Must possess at minimum a high school diploma or GED.
Must stay up-to-date on all trainings required by DHS.
Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new environments and classroom routines.
Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
Must have Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification.
Reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
Experience working in a childcare or educational setting is highly preferred.
CDA or educational background in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Closed on major holidays and Fall and Spring Break.
