Equine Certified Equine Nurse or Technician (ICU/Overnight/Swing/Weekends) Are you passionate about equine care and looking to make a significant impact? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Equine ICU Technician or Nurse to join our team for overnight, swing, and weekend shifts.

Summary We are looking for a Certified/Registered/Licensed Veterinary Technician or Nurse who can perform daily nursing and medical treatments for equine patients, assist veterinarians with emergency cases, maintain our ICU facility with high standards of biosecurity and care, and help with overnight foaling.

Shift Details Three 12-hour overnight shifts from Friday to Sunday initially. We need someone to fill this role until we can establish a rotation schedule with a fully built-out team for this crucial position.

Duties and Responsibilities Including but Not Limited To

Provide daily treatments and nursing care for all hospitalized patients, including elective procedures, critical care, and isolation

Prepare drugs, fluids, and CRIs for daily treatment

Administer PO, IM, SQ, PR medications

Perform venipuncture, including blood draws, IV medication administration, and IV catheter placement

Conduct bloodwork and recognize abnormalities

Maintain biosecurity in ICU and isolation areas through rigorous cleaning and protocol enforcement

Stock ICU areas with necessary drugs and supplies, maintaining an accurate controlled drug log

Assist with foaling when needed.

Where we are located Oakhurst sits Southwest of Portland, Oregon on a 147-acre Thoroughbred farm in the heart of the beautiful Willamette Valley wine country. The clinic is situated within a one-hour drive to the coast or mountains, and only a few hours from the outdoor recreation mecca of central Oregon! You will find great dining, hiking, biking, skiing, watersports, golfing, fishing, and numerous other outdoor adventures readily available in the local region!

Job Requirements Including But Not Limited To Experience working with equine veterinarians. Certification as a veterinary nurse or veterinary technician.
