Position Summary This position functions as a waterproofer, performing skilled work by repairing window glazing and joint caulking/sealants, elevator pits, structural and concrete repairs and masonry, pedestrian and traffic coatings, and vapor barriers. Waterproof both above and below grade items. May perform concrete restoration. Operate hand and power tools as well as swing stages and lifts; and load/unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks. May provide on-site guidance to others.

Essential Job Functions

Set and climb ladders and scaffolding, may work from various lifts; work at heights.

Able to read and comprehend simple instructions; able to write simple correspondence and complete forms such as work orders and timesheets.

Have working knowledge of waterproofing products, materials, supplies, and equipment used on a regular basis.

Inspect windows, sealants, joints, concrete, etc. to identify leaks and problem areas. Take pictures of jobs sites before and after work is completed.

Perform manual work in preparing surfaces for repair. Includes using hand/electric/power tools as well as solvent cleaners and waterproofing products. Caulk and seal joints in structures to seal them watertight; apply cold membrane waterproofing in liquid or sheet rolls; apply epoxy injections with pressure equipment to fractures and cracks in buildings to restore them to structural integrity; power wash to clean and restore buildings; apply exterior coatings to buildings; perform concrete restoration to balconies and other exterior structures.

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of waterproofing equipment, tools, and supplies.

Remove job-related debris at end of day/project; load/unload materials and tools by hand from trucks.

Be a safety conscious individual; follow Company and OSHA safety guidelines.

Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Experience/Education /Competencies

3-5 years experience apply caulking, coating on commercial waterproofing projects

Working knowledge of waterproofing products and materials regularly used on commercial projects

Experience in tuck pointing preferred

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Pass Company background check, including a felony and misdemeanor check and drug test

Possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license is preferred

Use interpersonal skills; focus on solving problems and conflict; keep emotions under control

Use oral and written communication to receive instructions and ask questions; complete Company forms

Understand teamwork; contribute to building a positive team spirit and put success of team above own interests

Have balance, stamina, strength and the ability to work rapidly at heights

Supervisory Responsibility

This job has no direct reports, but has responsibility to assign/train/direct others on waterproofing projects.
