Ammonia Technician – Cold Storage / Distribution Facility

Position Snapshot Join a high-performance distribution operation where ammonia refrigeration reliability is mission-critical.
You’ll be the on-site expert supporting ammonia system operations, inspections, and compliance — ensuring the facility runs safely, smoothly, and within all PSM/RMP regulatory standards. Perfect for a skilled technician who loves hands‑on work, troubleshooting, and owning the integrity of a major industrial refrigeration system.
What You’ll Do
Monitor ammonia system operation, control points, and daily hazardous‑materials events
Perform routine inspections on all refrigeration equipment and supporting systems
Lead safety practices and support changes to improve compliance
Partner with Maintenance leadership to identify equipment deficiencies and root causes
Operate and maintain ammonia equipment safely, efficiently, and within regulatory guidelines
Support continuous on-site training and readiness
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all SOPs and policies
Participate in emergency preparedness for federally regulated processes
What You’ll Bring Required
4+ years hands‑on industrial refrigeration experience
5+ years maintenance experience
Ammonia Operator I Certification (required)
Solid mechanical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
RMP and PSM background in ammonia environments
Ability to pass a physical and respirator fit test
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Nice to Have
4+ years continuous ammonia/NH3 experience
Operator II or III certification
Strong background in process controls or electrical systems
Leadership experience in safety or refrigeration operations
