Summary:
Responsible for organizing, securing and maintaining the service and support functions of the Tool Crib and tool inventory management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
Maintains tooling inventory management system while demonstrating a high attention to detail with daily data entry. Prepares, sets up and kits tooling for machinists at Mill and Lathe machine centers. Breakdown and disassembly of all tooling. Receives, unpacks and stores incoming tools and equipment and requisitions stock. Issues tools and equipment to employees and maintains computer records of tools and equipment issued. Handles item returns daily including the processing of used inserts. Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment, reports any missing or damaged tooling returned and performs periodic inventory cycle counts. Inspects tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using measuring equipment; repairs, services and lubricates tools, equipment and hand tools; documents all damage and excessive wear. Ensures that bins are properly labeled and organized. Records data for supporting documentation as needed. Responsible for or back up for tool crib purchasing, get quotes, issue purchase orders, review items and handle repair POs. May be required to assist in the training of employees of inventory check-out system as well as the tool vending machines. Assists shop floor as needed. Offers recommendations for improvements to operating procedures. Maintains a clean and organized work area. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Tech school education in machining and/or tooling field helpful; High school diploma or equivalent required Strong general computer skills required Good working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) preferred Experience with an inventory management system preferred Previous experience in manufacturing preferred Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction with a high attention to detail Physical Demands:
Medium work that includes moving and lifting objects up to 50 pounds Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers Operation of machinery and power tools Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for the duration of shift The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
