Primary Objectives:
Prescribe individual and/or group lessons to help students overcome difficulties in mathematics and reading; provide instruction across Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, Employability Skills, Health Education, Driver’s Education, and HSD/HSE; conduct and manage academic classes.
Pay:
$27.00/hr – $27.00/hr
License:
Must have Washington State teaching license (or proof of certification pursuit)
Driver’s License:
Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable record
On‑Call Hours:
Included
Wage:
$26.65–$26.66 hourly
Position Responsibilities
Perform as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, delivering instruction in Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, Career Success Standards, Health Education, Driver’s Education or HSD/HSE.
Create a positive and motivating classroom atmosphere to maximize student engagement.
Maintain discipline to ensure effective learning.
Build rapport with students and staff.
Collaborate with career‑tech instructors on curriculum development.
Utilize all available curricular resources at the Center.
Prepare adequately for each class.
Maintain student records, including data, test scores, evaluations, incident reports, and awards; record attendance in CIS.
Participate in ESPs (evaluation of student performance).
Evaluate student employee performance in academics and CSS; provide feedback.
Work toward meeting performance standards, learning gains, HSD/HSE, trade completion, and certification.
Conduct ATARS audits and develop corrective actions.
Follow CDSS plan and Code of Conduct daily.
Assist with quarterly graduation exercises.
Adhere to property control policies and safety practices.
Maintain good housekeeping in all areas.
Comply with all relevant regulations and LifeSkills Connection policies.
Model LifeSkills Connection’s core values and operating principles.
Mentor student employees on Career Success Standards.
Participate in PRH‑mandated staff training; failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to termination.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Experience
Minimum of one to two years related experience in education.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certified to teach in the state where the center is located (state may waive if no certified teachers are available, but the candidate must pursue certification).
Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands The physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, talking, listening, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Required vision includes close, distance, and peripheral vision.
Work Environment Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and varying noise levels from moderate to loud.
